Will vs Going to
WILL
Use will for:
- Spontaneous decisions made at the moment of speaking
- The phone is ringing. I'll answer it.
- Predictions based on opinion or belief
- I think it will rain tomorrow.
- Promises and offers
- I'll help you with that.
GOING TO
Use going to for:
- Plans and intentions decided before the moment of speaking
- I'm going to visit my grandmother this weekend.
- Predictions based on evidence you can see now
- Look at those clouds. It's going to rain.
